Like Simon (
borrowedphrases) I am super late on this bandwagon but god damn it, I'm going to give it my best shot. The reason I'm five-to-six days behind is because the first requirement is something I really don't like to do (that is recommend my own fanworks). It's just a toe out of my comfort zone for me to pimp myself, but damn it, that's the point of this challenge, isn't it?
So here we go. I'll have a better time tomorrow, I'm sure.
In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.
Like Simon again, I am going to stick with my fanworks in the Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger fandom. I'm also going to skip straight drabbles, because I just don't think they're representative of my overall style. Most of them were written in my very early days in the fandom as requests.
1- Most Popular Fic (as based on AO3 hits)
The Soaring High, The Crushing Down - [Work in Progress, Alternate Universe via Canon Divergence, Sid/Joe and Sid/Marvelous]
I have to assume that this is my most popular fic (via hits) because of how long it is (and it's still not complete!), mainly because Sid does not really seem to be a particularly popular character. That said, I'm not particularly ashamed of this fic, in fact I'm quite proud of it. I wish that the muse hadn't left me in the lurch as of lately, because it really needs to be finished already.
2- Least Popular Fic (as based on AO3 hits)
Burn the Evidence - [Complete, Canon, Warz Gill/Barizorg focus]
This one I can't say I'm surprised by, but I am a little bummed that I've gotten so little response on this fic. Admittedly, it's only recently posted, and there's only one properly main character even in this fic, and only in a bit part. Again, Simon and I are learning that Sid is not a particularly popular character in Gokaiger fic. Which makes me sad, because I really love him and want to read more fic featuring him. C'est la vie.
3- A Fic I Am Particularly Proud Of
It's A Marvelous Life - [Complete, Gen Marvelous Focus, Whole Plot Reference to It's A Wonderful Life]
This fic was generally my 2011 Holiday gift to the fandom as a whole, and the response has been phenomenal. But more than that, I find I'm particularly proud, not just of the concept, but of how I executed it. I re-read the entire thing recently and found that I enjoyed the experience, which is not something I can say about my own work very often. I'm proud of the alternate reality I presented in this fic.
