what :: GoldSprints. Or: Pedaling a stationary bike connected to a computer-monitored system for a measured amount of distance, at your own greatest speed for up to 30 seconds, in a race against another bike-mounted opponent, with intent to out-rank other contestants.
Sounds easy enough, right? Yeaaaaah......

when :: JOHNNY SPRINTS RACE 2 - New Year's Eve, Thursday, 31 December 2009

My first GoldSprints race, with Abe watching my progress as projected on the wall, and rooting me on :D

I don't bicycle in Chicago yet myself, so the idea of racing a regular biker was seriously intimidating. I got gutsy at one point though - after watching other people racing, and be egged-on by the encouraging yet a bit misleading verbal jab of my boyfriend Abe - "It's only 30 seconds of your Life!".

So! I challenged another non-biking girl to do it, for my 1st race. I actually did 2 races that night, and dropped my time on the 2nd race!!!! This was my first GoldSprints visit ever, too! It was crazy fun :D lol

Molly
1st race = 28.05 seconds
2nd race = 24.65 seconds - ranked 33rd place overall for the evening :: 9th (out of 10 racers) for Women.

My better time is listed below, under "Women" and as "Molly L", and Abe's is listed in "Men" as "Abraham".
