If You Had Known Me

Oct 21, 2006 02:00

If you had known me in the water when I was coming out
If you knew where the Spirit led me and what the Father was talking about
If you had known me in temptation when the devil's evil failed
If you knew what the coming kingdom entailed

If you had known me you would have followed me in wonder

For I am different than anything in Heaven's under

And here you are with questions

Listening for great suggestions

And I am so pleased with how you've done

And your progress yet to come

Yes, I say you have known me

I say you have known this one

If you had known me on the mountain when I blessed the meek and merciful

If you had known the Law, known the Word, known its flesh, and all things possible

If you had known me in the healing that was much more skin-deep

And in the calming of a storm and waves that haunted more than just a sea

If you had known me as a teacher who washes students' feet

If you had known me as an example and an example to repeat

If you had known me as a master and one sent by his lord
If you had known me in receiving men and known me as something more
