So...thoughts from fighting last night.
The Castille blade is not quite as light/fast as the latest generation Del Tin single wides, but it does seem less likely wear out/develop a weak spot as quickly as my DelTin blade did. Also, as where my Del Tin did pick up burs easier (thinner profile) the Castille blade now has after one night MANY micro burs up and down it. So, I will have to be aware of this and see if this is just a need to "round" the edges off of a BRAND NEW blade issue. All in all, I'm so far happy with the blade, but it's going to take some getting used to (at least my point control isn't as far off as when I first switched to the Del Tin SW blade last year...that was off by 4-6 inches because of the tip weight/balance change)
Still can't fight worth a damn with my dagger...still lots of bad habits from my buckler (my fingers were a prime target from one particular sniper)
My sword arm is full of rust and new blade wasn't helping...but I wasn't really planning on owning the floor. I got some good shots in...but others got many in on me as well (the 3 bruises on me attest to that).
Opened up one of the fighter's arm (just a small superficial scratch/cut). Still don't know if it was from a shot or one of the micro burs. But I guess that's the risk you take when you fight in a sleeveless T-shirt. Strangely enough, it was the same guy I opened up once before a couple of years ago (but...um...that was on purpose 'cuz he was being an ass...you want to hit/chop hard even after I mention it?....oh....I can play that game too). Still not sure if he's a AD guy or just someone else who showed up for the open floor night.
All in all...my fight was drek. But we'll see if it gets better as I get used to the blade set up.
