Weekend of win

So, hung out for a BBQ with Karen, Jason and Darryl. Big o'le thick steaks and grilled veggies. And since Kate's allergies (no dairy or gluten), it's always interesting to find foods we can create and bring that she can also enjoy. Found a simple whipped coconut cream (easy stuff...but really good). The next was a one ingredient ice cream. One? Ya...one. Frozen bananas. Throw that stuff in the food processor and blend till like soft serve and then throw into the freezer till needed. You can add extra stuff as you desire (we chose simply some honey). And surprise surprise...the stuff actually has the consistency of ice cream. It doesn't have an overpowering banana taste. And even better.....I liked it...and so did everyone else. So, mixed with some chopped up fresh fruit, topped with the coconut whipped cream and sprinkled with toasted coconut (another great Costco find)...delicious.

Karen had showed us the cart she bought for her horse, and was trying to figure out how to retrieve it. Offered up helping her with our utility trailer. So, next morning after a bit of back of forth getting the insurance renewed on the trailer (sigh...ICBC and paperwork) we are off. The cart folds up into the trailer like it's made for it, and we deliver it to the farm where Finnegan is boarded. We then go and have a visit with the various horses. While we are wandering around one of the horses sneaks up on me (ya...scared me....they CAN be sneaky when they want to be) and starts nuzzling up to me like a lonely dog. And after...followed us around. Interacted with more horses in one afternoon than I probably had in my life up till then.

Go and pick up the wife after work, and try to go see Edge of Tomorrow, but for some reason the projector is broken and we all get refunded...sigh...so drown our sorrows in tasty beer and pulled pork at the Billy Miner Pub. DELICIOUS, both the beer and the food.

So now...I sit here...and digest. Hopefully soon I'll get a chance to see if the batteries I swapped out in the solar powered garden lights are going to do their job.

But, a nice and pleasant weekend

And I got my yard chores done as well

yay
