A Meditation: After Easter

Where is Easter on the first Sunday after the Sunday before?
From the courtyard to the beach,
John 21: 1 - 8
... If we are to remember the resurrection lessons of Easter,
then they must be anchored firmly in our hearts & minds.
They must be reiterated again & again as they are for Peter.
We must choose to remember
rather than letting ourselves forget.
Dear God,
we ask today that you would forgive us for our spiritual amnesia,
Forgive us that yesterday's miracles so soon become today's humdrum.
Today we pray for those, like Peter, who must find their way again.
For all who have been knocked off course by the failure of Plan A, B or C. For all who are encumbered by a crushing sense that they have let you down somehow; we ask of this day that they might find you once again.
And we thank you for those, like John, who seem able to pick you out in the distance or spot you in the crowd; thank you for their eyes of faith & their voices to describe what they see.
Attune us too that we might see more of you & hear more from you.
Replace the deep bass of doubt with the high melody of faith, we pray.
