life's a party.
my trip to europe was amazing. we went to medjugorje, stayed with mirjana's brother and the hernandezes, and it was just incredible. it is literally my favorite place on earth. and sorry, disneyworld, but it is the also the HAPPIEST place on earth. i learn so much about myself every time i go. and it changes my life every time i go back. and there are just so many crazyfuncool people there... mirjana, miki, dragan, viktor, nancy, miro, ramona, fr. jozo, the guys at cenacolo, etc. it's the greatest place in the world.
italy was great, too. swam in the med. saw the leaning tower of pisa. ran around in popeland. the entire trip was great. and i really do love my family. very much.
there was SUPER crazy drama the day we were flying back home. bush came to italy the same day we left, and EVIDENTLY when air force 1 lands somewhere, all the other planes have to GO AWAY! which sucked. our flight was cancelled, then it was just delayed, etc. it was a HUGE mess. i had to get home that night because i was singing the eucharistic procession downtown the next day, so my dad and i flew home super late that night while the girls stayed in cincinatti. katherine cried...? wow. that was weird.
the next day was sunday-- corpus christi, the day of the eucharistic procession that i had to sing downtown, and the day of the TONYS! the procession was really nice, but really hot. then the tony party was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. maybe it was just because i hadn't seen any of my friends in 2 weeks, but having almost ALL of my best friends congregated in a single place ALONG with the fact that the tonys were on that night made me SUPERSUPERSUPER happy. it was amazing. spring awakening won A GAJILLION tonys. and i'm happy they did. EVEN though their performance really wasn't that good. i AM VERY glad that christine ebersole won. but i am VERY SAD and VERY MAD that raul esparza didn't win the tony. did they WATCH being alive?! it was phenomenal! anyway. that'll be in the letter to the american theatre wing. haha.
the day after that, i went to seussical rehearsal, which was super fun. hanging out with some of my favorite people yet again. speaking of-- i cannot EXPRESS how glad i am that i'm good friends with liz, hayli, allison, and all the other overallpro people again. it makes me happier than any of y'all will know. after rehearsal, we went to IHOP. brett met us there. SUPER fun. the night we met toothless thomas. "gotta find some teeth!" "josh, he is RIGHT THERE."
next 2 days = valuable family time. love.
ALSO of importance that week-- i finally took drivers ed. oh, vernon stanfield. you crazy man. it was kind of torture, but i met some semi-fun people. and had some very weird experiences... hm. thank you, howtogetridofstuff.com.
thursday, i went to see seussical for the first time. sat by margot, jillian, and ashley when she came up during act 2. fun stuff. "josh, i wish i had a fleece like that right now. my neck is so cold." "...oh, MINE TOO." went to chili's after. everyone made fun of me. brett commended me and said he had "taught me well." i love life.
the next day was ERICA'S FIRST DAY BACK HOME! i love you and i missed you so much! she picked me up around 1ish to go see the NOCCA show. we stopped at sound to get le coffee first. got to NOCCA, and met up with sarah, sherard, chris, hayli, kevin, and emma. the show was fun. pretty much? i love courtney. yeah. saw blake and jefferson after the show, which made me REALLY HAPPY. "hey, blake!" "time for a haircut." oh, i love margaret, too. and cameron. they were the 3 good people in the show. yay for them. seeing the show made me feel REALLY REALLY old. i'm a junior. where has high school gone?!
after the show, erica, sarah, hayli, and i went to chateau. SO MUCH FUN. "schmargle me, josh"..."she kind of...yanked?"..."TENSION!"..."flan. or arm vaginas."...et cetera. i love those three so much. s-jax and haylilooyah left chateau to get to st. lukes and erica and i went to hanhville to go see into the woods, which was REALLY GOOD! courtney was fantastic. so was lindsey. and other people. lovelovelove!
saturday night, i went to see seussical YET AGAIN! went with laura, erica, and bruce. fun people i love. went to cane's after. also super fun. "kevin, i don't know the words!" "oh, don't worry-- i have the sheet music right here..." CAAAAGES OR WINGS, which do you prefer?
sunday was father's day! went to mawmaw and grand-daddy's house. yes, those are their names. then i sang mass at immaculate conception. typical sunday.
monday afternoon, i went to go get coffee with bruce to catch up since he's been in florida. bruce is a really great person. it was super fun and super nice to talk to him.
on monday night, i went to see shrek 3 with haaaaayli! yeah, that's right. we went on a date. what now?! hahahaha. i adore her. cuzference! "...it's probably japanese..."
tuesday was liz's COSTUME BIRTHDAY PARTY! laura and i dressed up as each other, as humiliating facebook pictures show. it was really fun. the OOTI people got back from nyc and i got to further manifest my EXTREME jealousy. barrett foa?! ahrens and flaherty?! lauren pritchard?! LACHANZE?! greeeeeen with envy.
on wednesday, erica picked me up and we went to go bake with hazel at her house! i love and miss her. mucho. chill/mellow fun. i love them both so much. erica freaks out when i throw cream cheese at her. she's silly like that. picked up brian from bromart. listened to non-english titanic mumbling once again. were generally fabulous? as usual.
i got home and then went with laura to go see little me at tulane! the show was GREAT. ricky was fantastic, adriene sounds like susan egan, and all the chorus people i know in the show were wonderful, aka bruce, brian, chris, jenn, chelsea, and other summer lyric people. i love y'all! laura came with me. courtney was there too. as were griffin and ashleeeey. and casey. actually, a lot of people were there. haha.
thursday night was my LAST TIME seeing seussical. courtney, ethan, and holli were there. i love them. ALSO of importance, franklin people were there, INCLUDING lashlee! oh wait... sorry, sarah and courtney... i meant to say this-- INCLUDING a girl named lashlee warner!
we sat next to each other and talked a lot and i think we'd get along really well and i definitely like her and this is totally a run-on sentence. but i'm not sure if i wanna "pursue" things with her. we'll see! she's fun and gorgeous, though.
after the show, we all went to denny's. fuuun. last time i saw courtney before we both left. i love you so much, courtney theresa kattengell. i was seriously sad.
friday was my last day in town. loooots of packing ensued. well, attempts at packing. laura came over and gave me my birthday presents-- a poster of a MILLION pictures of us and a bunch of inside jokes, a barnes & noble giftcard, M&M's, and my mix CD. whiiiiich kind of made me cry a river. i love you SO MUCH. i just pushed on the keys really hard to emphasize how much i mean that.
went to see li'l abner that night. it was actually okay! jessica's going to be an MT superstar. saying goodbye to my sisters was hard. and i definitely almost cried. [/girl]
after that, i surprised people at bennigan's because i wanted to say bye to everyone one last time. i love you all!
so, now i'm in middletown, connecticut. the constitution state. i don't know why they call it that. i'm right outside of hartford and a little away from nyc, where i'm DETERMINED i'll be visiting courtney and brett somehow. hannah and grant aren't here yet, but i am patiently awaiting their arrival! here's to a new adventure! i'll update more on my feelings about the CCY experience as it starts. registration tomorrow. pray for me!
