Ponderisms

I was at a movie yesterday night and started thinking about the idea of going to movies with friends. I think that movie viewing is a very personal experience during the actual viewing process, and that the criticism and review is largely a group process. Why, then, is such a stigma attached to the idea of watching a movie in a theater alone? Lonely, perverted, introverted... these are some words I've heard used to describe singular viewers of recently released films. Does bringing one or more partners to a movie really have anything to do with how you experience it? All they can do is eat food, make snide comments or make out with you. I think the system is backwards. It's groups at movies that are strange, not vice-versa.
