Personality: Julius Monrey is a neutral figure in Wonderland. As such, he does not approve of the war going on and avoids becoming involved in the matters of the other territories when at all possible. And that also means that he rarely interacts with the other inhabitants who are involved in the war. At the same time, a lot of the inhabitants of Wonderland avoid him and the Clock Tower, solely because of Julius' occupation as Clock Maker.
Most of the time, Julius wears a somewhat gloomy, deadpan expression. This, as well as his occupation, causes him to be considered somewhat of an outsider, that most of the inhabitants of Wonderland either hate or distance themselves from. He isn't very good at showing his emotions. In fact, there are times when it's clear that he has a bit of trouble being open about things, due to his generally closed nature. The people he interacts with the most are Ace, his assistant who helps him with his work from time to time and Mary Gowland, as well as Alice, when she comes to live with him.
He's incredibly serious about most things, especially his work. However, it's also clear that he hates his work as well, and that it greatly saddens him to see broken clocks brought to him.
And where Alice is concerned, he is something of a Guardian. He is protective of her, even when he doesn't show it, and he doesn't wish for any harm to come to her. As such, that's why he's always advising her and trying to keep her out of harms way when he can. It's also the reason he is loathe to tell her about his work, and explain some of the darker workings of Wonderland.
It isn't easy for him to connect to people, due to his occupation. However, when he does make connections, they are serious and important to him. Even in Wonderland, he seems to understand the importance of the inhabitants lives more than anyone, although he also puts extra weight upon the importance of Alice's well-being due to her being an Outsider with a heart. Like everyone else in Wonderland, he loves Alice because she is an Outsider. But he isn't so sure what kind of love it is that he feels for Alice. He only knows that he enjoys her company and that he wants to see what kind of love it is.
