While its not the best subsitute for people actually being there, I'm sure there are people on here, myself included that would well cope with being called/emailed and ranted at.
I know this isn't exactly a true solution, but it is as close as I can think of right now. Obviously trips down to see people aren't exactly easy, so I can't think of anything right now.
If I am thinking right though, shouldn't you be getting close to Christmas break. I know I'm only about 7 weeks from that now (free for a whole 3 weeks from the whinning children. Not that I mind children, its just other peoples kids seem to be more annoying than I used to remember). What are your plans? Thats probably the best time to do a bit of a get together... though I'll be digging through a pile of work, I still plan on abandoning it and making sure I come and say hi to a few folks.
I do know what you mean though. I'm only 45 minutes from Sheffield and I miss everyone all the time. Huddersfield is exceptionally lonely right now, its not easy being here and studying knowing that I wish I could see the people from there that I have been close friends with. Hope you feel better soon though, or if not that you feel the course is worth the distance away from folks. If you want to contact me at all, than my uni email is d0565483@hud.ac.uk - available for ranting and arguements etc.
Thank you for the support - it is much appreciated, trust me. I'm not feeling so down today for some reason. I think it has to do with the fact that I'm just too tired from dancing three hours straight tonight.
The course is worth the trouble, I have to admit, it's just hard to be trying to make friends among a group of people who have been dancing together for three years or more. (I'm not a beginner, so don't fit with the Freshers, but the experienced dancers are a bit clique-y. Grr.)
As for holidays - yeah, seven or eight weeks till I'm off, but that's not actually a thing to look forward to at the moment - I have three assignments due the first week back, and the second week I have exams. Sucks.
Will be spending the hols in Paris, to boot, but will let you know what I'm doing definitely closer to the time.
