Bloody car trouble...

So I was on my way to work this morning, doing 80mph down the dual-carriageway (I know. Bit naughty.) when OMFG it just lost power. Battery light came on, power steering failed and I'm coasting along thinking 'Ohmyshitohmygodwhatthefuck'. I managed to pull into a lay-by safely, got my phone out and realized I'd forgotten to charge it last night. Yes, I am feckless, thank you for asking. I had enough charge for one call, which I made to the RAC. I have NEVER been more thankful to see a man in a van in ALL MY LIFE. Thanking my lucky stars I'd remembered to renew my membership too. Turns out it was the alternator (whatever that is) and he took me to a local garage who are fixing it as I type. Now I am £150 lighter in the pocket and missing a day of work. Such is life.

STILL at least I'm alive. The nice RAC man let me use his phone to call work and Mr Riss, which was kind. The garage men have charged my phone for me and keep giving me decent coffee, so I have decided they are wonderful. Every cloud, and all that. So I shall sit here and read (again) the marvellous H/D fic 'Drink Up Thy Zider' which I have luckily printed off and kept in my handbag for emergencies and keep drinking the coffee...
