...o canada...

I'm very proud to be Canadian.  Not only did we poke fun of ourselves over and over last night during the closing ceremonies (I'm sorry, but giant mounties?  giant beavers?  all we needed were igloos and we'd have hit every stereotype.  AMAZING!!!!) but we showed what it is to be Canadian.

The country was one big party last night, and I know Canadians around the world were cheering, realizing just how big the Van 2010 Olympics were for us.  A chance to showcase who we are.  What we are.  And what we can do.

I do have to say though, hockey.  I'm glad we won, if not just because there would be a lot of whining and crying and boo hooing today.  So I'm grateful we did win that game.  But at the same time, I'm very anti professional players in the Olympics.   I think that all players for every country in every sport should be amateurs.

Wasn't that the whole point of the Olympics?  You know, way back when?  Why is it that in any other sport, no professional athletes are allow, but Hockey it's okay???

Lame.

And that's all I have to say about that.

My favourite moment of the games?  Still, Alexandre Bilodeau's gold medal!!

Go Canada!  WOO!!! \o/
