I have to say thank you to all the well-wishers out there. And this is
the best birthday gift EVER!!!
Anyone who isn't in Sierra Vista for the event on Saturday, or otherwise out of town and in Pennsylvania, I'm thinking of something dinner-wise. Will be in touch to let folk know.
No deep (HAH) thoughts today.
I have to say I'm gratified to have another great DnD group. Truth be told I didn't know in the beginning if everyone was going to stick with it, and while there was one drop that just helped cohesion. Items of note:
- the party thinks they are cute and sending a poisoned cake to the goblin king (this literally made me repeatedly bang my head on the table because, well, there's REASONS you don't do things like that!), which I can't say anything else about lest I drop too many spoilers
- 4th edition really is possibly the best balanced (so far) game I've played
- solo monsters can't compete with a standard monster when the DM starts stringing nat 20's
- I truly believe my curse of not being able to kill dwarves has been broken
- While I don't think anything can come close to the solo campaign that really defined the beginning of my custom world, the current group is easily as fun as any group I've had the pleasure of running
- I've gone from not playing with any artists to two in one group -- in case anyone hasn't seen, some examples: number 1, number 2 , and number 3. This is in addition to the best birthday gift ever, of course
- I'm betting I can bring the current campaign in line with my world at large eventually if I really want to, since so far it's been small enough, and I've still left enough "undiscovered country" in the immediate vicinity to keep plots rolling until the mid-paragon at least, unless the party is serious about taking out the goblin king. --edits for spoiler--
