God bless the magic elixir

So I'd been coming down with something for about a week when I got word that Salt Lake City would be expecting a visit from our Pittsburgh complinace team.  In traditional February fashion I a) recieved marching orders to a winter location and b) that which was working on me unleashed a full on attack.  Beginning Thursday it was all blocked head and painful cough and general malasse.

By Friday I wasn't having anymore of this...it was all to familiar in the trappings of the bronchitis I got last year in Michigan and suffered through while I was trapped in the Holiday Inn Ghetto for the night.  I called my new doctor which was blessedly more sympathetic and compassionate than my old physician - the one who shipped me off to Detroit with out so much as a Vitamin C.  Being an asthmatic I don't like to play around and after experiencing a two week delay last time, I found myslef taking a full month to recoup and a full series of chest x-rays.  New doctor listened thoughtfully to my Feb 08 experience and promptly prescribed that prescription which mended me last time.

The result *inhales deeply through one nostril* I am already blissfully more comfortable than I was when I left for Detroit last year and with a good 15 hours left to go before I travel, I anticipate that while I am not going to be 100%, I am going to be comfortable and alert for the visit.  I sort of remember falling asleep during the file review in Detroit, so yeah not good.  Alert - much better.  And I'm looking forward to this visit so it's nice to have my body a little more in line with my head :)

So that's 2 red eyes in store for me this week.  It might just be a good thing because my sleeping hours have been off quite a bit with this cold so maybe I'll manage to not miss any of my connection flights (please, no!)  On the up swing, I've completed most of my first 5x7 cross stitch project.  I am hoping they allow me to take it on the plane as I will have evenings to myself and it would be nice to finish it by the time I get home.

It's a "friends" cross stitch for a girlfriend of mine who is having surgery on the 23rd.  Then it will be on to Mom and Dad's anniversary cross stitch  -  a very large design made with the ProStitch program I found.  Shawn took some pictures from our family vacation in 2007 and photoshopped them into this (forgive the edit - parents are weird about having their names on the net):

So ProStitch turned it into a pattern for me and I will give it a go.  It's a bit ambitious, but I think my parents have officially become the hardest people to gift EVER!  but they're just so cute *pinches cheeks*

Alright....arghhh, must pack

trips; salt lake city; sick; cross stitc
