Watching My Habits - Part 1

Jul 17, 2008 02:31

Over the past month or so, I've gained a few good habits and noticed a lot of not so nice ones. I'm hoping to continue the ones that are healthy for me and try to modify or eliminate the poor ones.

Good Habits

1) Drinking lots of water - I have been drinking lots of water, so much in fact that I drink it more than anything else. I used to drink a lot of milk and juice, but now I am always getting water. It definitely hydrates me a lot better than the others do, and it helps me to feel fuller after I eat. The only drawback to this is my difference in consumption while at work compared to at home. I don't drink as much liquid at home for whatever reason, but it's something to improve.

2) Eating breakfast - I do it everyday! I used to never eat until lunch, but now I always have something.

3) Packing my lunch/dinner - I work at a convenience store and there is nothing healthy to eat there. For over a year I would buy sandwiches or eat ice cream, none of which are good for me. I'd also eat too much because I wasn't watching my portions. Now I bring a sandwich (usually 100% whole wheat) and a piece of fruit with something else for a snack later in my shift. I've been doing this on a consistent habit so that I now make time in my daily routine to do it!

Those are just a couple of the good habits that I've noticed myself doing which will help me to achieve my results later on. Either tomorrow or the next couple days I will post about some of the habits that are really hampering my efforts.
