Oh, my. Thank you. This is far more than I was hoping for! You certainly did run with the prompts, didn't you? I liked the repetition of Aziraphale learning to appreciate things, and how it all culminates in the day after the Apocalypse-That-Wasn't. And, the moments you chose to focus on were all quite striking.

I really love this line:

And he smiles painfully, like something is cracking his face into a grin with a sledgehammer, like a big cosmic joke that ends with death and bitter irony. Maybe it is.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this! Ahaha, prompts have this bad habit of getting away from me and by the time I catch them I find I've gone much farther than I intended to... Your prompts themselves were certainly marvelous, and wonderful to work with!

I feel like an Almost-Apocalypse, what with the finality behind it, really would break your life up into Before-Apocalypse and After-Apocalypse, and inspire you to do the things you may have been afraid to do before! The entire 'I've got one chance at this existence' isn't something particularly impounded on immortal beings until you get an event like that, where they might realize just how possible it is for their existence to be wiped out.

Ahh, I'm glad you like that line! That was one of the lines I was more proud of in this story, I have to say.

Thank you for your generous response!! Writing this was just as much of a pleasure for me, as well, so thank you for your inspiring prompts and giving me the chance to play with history and wings, which are definitely two of the things in my ( ... )

Ahhh, thank you! You're one of my favorite authors in this fandom, what with all the wingkink and historyfic... I'm so glad you liked it!

I will admit that was the first sex scene I've ever written, I'm sorry I'm not very good at it... I honestly don't write much fanfiction, this is one of my only finished fics! I'm honored you like it so much even despite the awkward porn, OTL

Everything about this response, from the praise to the constructive criticism, makes me want to hug it to my chest and roll around with it! Thank you so much, gosh!!

AWwwwww! *hugs mystery author*

Hehe, no, the porn wasn't awkward as such, it just felt a bit out of place, after the story's progression, for it to go on like it did, as long as it did. Even so, I can understand the decision to include a more graphic scene after all that build-up. ^^

I'm truly honoured that you know my fic, as well, thank you. ^^

Actually, stylistically speaking, the explicit scene at the end reads like an addendum ficlet - that is, a follow-up that's been included as a kind of bonus feature. Which is very cool *thumbs up*

Oh! I really liked how Aziraphale and his and Crowley's relationship evolve. In the first one Aziraphale is very much himself but still a bit eerie and after the second one (I think) he changes. Also how Crowley and Aziraphale's relationship slowly develops and blooms (and it hurts how Aziraphale acknowledges Crowley so late).

Machiavelli being "more modern" literature made me chuckle.

Sorry about that I hope I deleted that comment fast enough OTL

SO ANYWAYS Secret Author here!

I'm so glad you enjoyed their relationship growing, I've always found that kind of fic fascinating, where you get to watch two people and how their interactions change over time(and in this case, millenia!).

The fact that it takes him so long to appreciate Crowley is actually intentional? I feel like Aziraphale's sort of refusal to acknowledge Crowley as more than just a demon is a really interesting part of his character and bias and I love exploring characters far further than they probably go...

The Machiavelli being modern literature was one of my favorite tidbits, I'm not even going to deny. The little details like that tend to be the funnest things to write.

Thank you for your review!!

*eyes closed tight*

Where is this all coming from this year I seriously don't even -

And suddenly Crowley is several feet behind Aziraphale. Aziraphale turns around just in time to see Crowley whistling nonchalantly as he tosses the knife over his shoulder. It lands point-down, buried in the dirt ( ... )

The writing and the artwork this year are so gorgeous that I can't properly wrap my head around it. You should see the comments I've left on the other contributions by this point, they're nearly all like this. If the world really were ending tomorrow, I feel we'd have given it a damned good send-off as a fandom.

*hugs*
