music to my earholes

So I'm back at Peter Mac...but fortunately only for another week or so. Huzzah! Can't wait to have some actual holiday-time, no matter how short it is. Not much happening on that front, just doing loads of Western blots (again), but am still learning, so it's still exciting...for the moment.

I watched Never Let Me Go the other day (because I felt like a really depressing movie, but doing so before I had to go to work wasn't a bright idea- it was rather tough trying not to think about the movie and if I did, I would have started sobbing). Andrew Garfield and Carey Mulligan are really good at breaking my heart into a million little pieces. It's a gorgeous film (albeit, with many plot holes, but they didn't bother me, because the cast is just amazing). Colour palette, score, just everything about it is lovely. I've already ordered the book from thebookdepository.co.uk. I hope to squeeze in Boy A (because I like feeling miserable, mmkay?) before I leave tonight. But I've been a mini-film kick! Also watched Black Swan and Easy A. The former being quite astounding (and yet rather horrific, in a good way) and the latter just being awesome (I think I might be an Emma Stone stan in the making).

Seeing The National tonight! I'm super excited! I saw The Morning Benders on Tuesday night and they just reminded me of how wonderful live music is. They were awesome and cute and now I'm really tempted to buy tickets for Local Natives and Joanna Newsom. It all depends on my finances. *sigh*
