ILU, Internet!!!1 XD
Some of you may remember the Internet Sampler I drew last year. Well, icefalcon has stitched a REAL one. With real floss and real Aida and it's really really awesome. It exists now, out in the world, a tangible thing. More pictures here, (where you can comment directly to icefalcon if you're so inclined).
I'm tickled to death with the whole cycle of this goofy little thing. This piece was made from a pattern that I drew, which is fan art of mina_de_malfois' stories, which are themselves a commentary on all of us. And even cooler, it was stitched as a gift for someone.
That's something that I don't see very often in the the world outside fandom --the joyful piggybacking which is so important to many fans -- and it's one of the things I cherish most about us. <3
