Ah HA! I bet you weren't expecting the Squares to be updated anytime soon!
Well the fact is the Squares are just a little over a year old now, so I figured I better wrap up this generation soon. Just FYI all of the kids this generation are already pretty grown up in their save; as usual I'm trying desperately to play catch-up before playing anymore. And there is a surprise at the end of this generation--ah, but I'm getting ahead of myself.
In the meantime, please enjoy...

Last time, on the Square Legacy...
Faris and Art got married...
Art suddenly changed appearances...
And the two of them had a baby girl, Terra...
~ ~ ~
Terra Square was nothing if not loved. Her mother doted upon her every waking moment of the day.
Even her father, insane as he was and quite unused to the strange paternal affection welling up within his heart, was rather fond of the child.
And of course Faris and Art still loved one another dearly. Mostly they wanted to get the most mileage they could out of the relationship as was possible, since Art was quite a bit older than Faris.
But time passes quickly when you're happy and in love; and soon Terra grew into a child. She took it well, considering she seemed to have shot from one to seven in about ten seconds. In this time she also developed her first semblance of personality: namely, she became a perfectionist.
She became a bit of a fashionista, choosing to dress in coordinated outfits. When she started school she realized that there were no other blue children in her class, and she felt rather awkward and out of place; therefore she started dressing in bright colors, so as to draw the eye away from her peculiar blue complexion. Not that it really helped THAT much, but it was something.
Like most small children, she was naturally curious about herself and where she came from. Granted, being a little blue alien girl was a tad different from wondering why you had the biggest nose in class, but it was kind of similar.
"Hey, Mom?" Terra asked her mother one day at breakfast. "Why am I blue? You and Daddy aren't blue. Am I weird? I mean Dad's kind of weird, so..."
"Oh, honey," said Faris. "Where do you get the idea that your father is weird?"
"Well I mean..."
"Oh, Art! You are the best reader I've ever had!"
"Why thank you, Mr. Book!"
"No problem! Hey, Art? Why do ghosts love elevators?"
"Why?"
"Because they lift their spirits!!!"
"That isn't normal, is it?" Terra asked.
"Well, I... that is..." Faris cleared her throat, trying to find a way to let her daughter down gently. "Look, Daddy's just... Italian. That's what he is. Art Giordano. It runs in the family."
"Wow, I'm Italian? That's so cool!"
Crisis averted and Art's secret identity good and safe, Faris breathed a sigh of relief. The day would come when she would have to tell Terra the truth, but that day was not today.
For now, she would let her daughter be a normal little girl. Well, I mean... normal in a certain sense of the word. Oh you know what I mean!
She enjoyed playing chess...
Terrorizing little virtual people...
Being creative...
And chatting up random strangers.
In all, she was an adorable little girl with adorable little girl interests and she was, quite plainly, the apple of her mother's eye. Not Art's, though; he seemed to still be adjusting to the fact that he had spawned with a human through, er, "natural" means.
Of course, that did not mean he disliked Faris. In fact the two of them still dug each other--A LOT. They were constantly kissing and flirting and adding little romantic outings to their schedules. Even when they were busy they made sure to make time for one another.
So it was honestly no surprise when Faris found out she was pregnant again. It was surprising when she put her hand through the door, though. Yowch!
"Okay, Art, I have some big news... Are you ready?"
"Of course, my lovely organic lifeform."
"I'm pregnant! Oh, Art, we're having another baby!"
"Oh... Well, that is quite exciting!" Art said. "And, er... pardon me, my sweet sack of organs, but it's been so long since we had the first one... but you are certain this fetus is a blend of our genetic materials, and you were not abducted and artificially inseminated? Because that happens--"
"Art. We have been over this."
"...Yes... Yes, we have. Well, smashing! I suppose I should start adopting the paternal instincts of your species, then."
Faris was a bit baffled. Had he not been a father for several years already? Sometimes she thought it was just his alien culture that kept him from forming some meaningful bond with Terra, but if he wasn't actually even trying in the first place...
Faris just pretended more excitement, ignoring the implications of her husband's words.
~ ~ ~
Faris decided to be a little more creative whilst telling Terra the news; the kid was only seven, after all.
"...and then the mommy and the daddy did a little dance, and there were a lot of sparkles, and when the lights came back on they realized they had made a little miracle. And that's where babies come from."
"Wow," Terra said. "Is that where I came from, Mama?"
"Yep," said Faris. "And let me tell you, there were a ton of sparkles. I almost went blind!"
"But you wear glasses anyway..."
"..."
Well, as the months dragged on, Faris was starting to wish having babies was that simple. She had almost forgotten how miserable pregnancy could be, what with being constantly hungry and having to run to the bathroom every few hours to pee or vomit. Why couldn't this be like TS3, where you just got a good moodlet and the occasional sore back?
But before she knew it, of course, it was time to welcome her new baby into the world!
After a quick and relatively easy labor, little Edgar Square joined the family.

Of course, having a baby was still pretty exhausting, so Faris and Edgar both took a long, long nap...

So that's it for today's update! I'm trying to get back into the swing of things with this Sims business but I've been avoiding it for so long that it may take a while to readjust. Sorry for not updating much lately; I've been pretty exhausted after getting home from work and all I've really wanted to do for the past few months is play other games, write, or just kind of laze around.
But, do look for another update sometime this week; I promise this time that it will happen. Probably
In the meantime--happy simming <3!
