Just a Bunch of stuff...

“Later in the evening as you lie awake in bed, you can hear the echoes of the amplifiers ringing in your head. You smoke the day's last ciggeret remembering what she said.” -Bob Segar's “Turn the page.”

It's late, It's hot and I have too much energy to sleep. Lately, I've not been sleeping on any normal pattern, and getting into a pattern is going to be hard after all this time of neglect. Granted that normally I don't sleep according to normal patterns anyway. So, I figured that I may as well write a journal entry, because I have not written one in a while... And because there are a few things that I should write about.

First, I will start with last week. My mother was on vacation, and I was left to find another way into Milwaukee for class and work. I happened to miss class on Tuesday, and feel very nervous now coming into the test tomorrow (Tuesday). I have been playing around with getting a version of GNU/Linux installed on my laptop, but playing is all I have been doing with it. The class thus far has been very dry; registers and bits and multiplexers, Oh My. At work, there was a huge theater conference we were hosting, and work was full of interesting people for all over the country. We wore name badges and such, so we could remember what our names were...

Thursday night, the boss let us out ½ an hour early, and so a group of us went to Jazz in the Park. It was cool. To finally relax a little and be out with the guys. There was a group of girls dancing in front of the stage, in fact some rather cute girls. I was thinking of joining them and “dancing from 6 to 60...” as my dad would say. But, I knew that if they played a slow song it would make me even sadder... I wouldn't feel right slow dancing with anyone while I'm attached. A rule always used to make the “slow skates” at Sk8 U really depressing when Mel didn't come skating with me... That was a long time ago, no? Heh, I can still skate circles around most people on the floor, but then I haven't been skating in quite a while. Anywho, I stayed standing in the masses of people in cathedral square park, standing with Nate and Joe. I watched the musicians on stage and the group of people dancing in front of the stage and I thought to myself how silly they looked. Granted they were having fun, but I could dance better than any of the young guys there... Not the older coupler, but then he looks like he's danced to a few more Jazz bands in his time, than I have. I don't mean to sound egotistical when I say that, it's just that I've taken a class in Jazz Dance, and most of them are used to pop-culture tripe that is played at the downtown clubs. I also thought how nice it would be to dance with my Sky, make fools out of ourselves and not care what the people around me thought. Well, after the half-hour was up, I went back to the Rep to catch my ride and hear all about my mother's trip. We got Mc. Donald's on our way to Grandma's house to Drop my Grandma and Amanda off, and to eat. They just got a new kitty before they left for California, and Dan has taken considerably well care of it considering the fact that he is... him. He picked up an old piano at a junk store or some such thing it is in disrepair, but it is supprising of him to pick up such a thing in any case. In any case, their dog is afraid of the kitten... It's funny to watch this dog back away from this tiny ball of fur.

Friday, I wasted... Saturday, I wasted... Sunday, the same... Well, no, I got stuff done with the rocks and such for the garden... We planted some flowering bushy thingies beside the drive way, to hide the neighbors falling-apart (falling-apart is now a adverb, by the way) house... Rose opened, and needs to be sprayed with the Rose spray, because it's got bugs, and mom watered it (washing Saturday's spray away...). Oh, yeah... Saturday night or Sunday morning, we had a mouse... Tink found it in the house, and brought it to my mom. It was still alive, and Tink let it go to play with it... It ran into a box, and we took the box outside. It should survive, but Tink was rather rough with it. I suppose we should be happy we didn't wash this one.

There was more that I wanted to add here, but after playing with it a bit, I decided that it would end up being far to long, so I may decide to post it later.
