I am a mom of 5, and 3 of them are teenagers. We've been experiencing some interesting things in our lives. 2 of them have been with friends who were shoplifting, and they were arrested for "guilt by association". I think they've learned their lesson.....

Stopping fraying on pinked and slashed fabrics isabeldelaroche May 22 2005, 10:17:10 UTC
They also used gum arabic to stop fraying, and may have sewn around the inside of the fabric to help stop fraying. The entire back of the fabric could have been treated, or just the areas around the cuttes.

There are also comments about how long the pinked and slashed garments lasted- in a derogatory way, so we can assume it did reduce the life of the garment.
