It was an interesting sensation, this desire to kick the crap out of both of them, and yet, still root for them. They both put themselves in an ugly situation, and Jensen's friends pretty much spoke for the way I felt about him from time to time in the story. I felt marginally worse for Jared, but he did know and walked into the situation with both eyes open. On the other hand, I hoped desperately that Jensen would wake up before it was too late, and rescue Jared before he ruined the both of them. Heartbreak times a million.

I didn't dislike Danneel, I also didn't feel terribly sad for her. She struck me throughout the story as someone who was marrying more out of inertia than love. I felt some sympathy because I felt she was cheating more out of revenge than desire. Too bad neither one of them could tell the truth to each other.

I cheered for Chad--I wanted to hug the hell out of him when he threatened Jensen. Someone needed to say it. You rule, Chad--I want him to be *my* best friend!

In the end, this made me cry for both of them: The woman's eyes widen. "Jared? I didn't know you two knew each other."

Her words make Jensen's heart sink even deeper, and he wants to beat the shit out of himself for making Jared go through all this alone. He put Jared in a position in which he couldn't even tell his mother about this? Fuck, he's such an asshole.

This line here made me actually believe that Jensen understood--finally-- what he put Jared through. And it also made me retroactively love Jared a little more for being that faithful and that brave. I'm glad that you were able to bring a happy ending out of all that. It was an intense read, especially since I was expecting something a little fluffier than this, lol! It was tough, heartbreaking, but a story that I think I'll be reading again. Thanks so much for sharing this!
