I just read an article entitled "Terrible T. Rex Was a Slowpoke" on Yahoo news. I have a serious problem with this. The text includes:
"These calculations lend further support to previous research indicating that the large tyrannosaurs could run no faster than 25 mph (and certainly not the 45 mph seen in some movies), because its leg muscles weren’t big enough for fast running."
OK, Maybe it can't run 45 mph like in Jurrassic Park. So what? 25 mph is plenty fast enough to run down AN OLYMPIC SPRINTER. It equates to a 9 second 100 meter dash. Current world records are closer to 10. Or a mile in 2 minutes and 24 seconds (world record about 3:45). That's fast enough for me to be scared.
And thus I needed to vent.
