(no subject)
so i've been totally missing from my blog...partially b/c my computer broke, partially b/c i have a twitter, partially b/c i'm crazy busy with work (for those of you not in the know). i think regular posting is kind of out of the question right now but i'll still be reading and commenting and lurking. i think i'll just post links on a semi-regular basis but since my life is (relatively) constant at the moment, there's not all that much to share i suppose?

2 pet peeves:
1. acronyms. they seem to be everywhere these days...i don't mind them as much on paper because they're saving keystrokes but when you say them out loud and you're saving less than half of the original syllables, all i can think is, "really? really?!" sigh.
2. lists that only have one item. or bullets were there is only one. isn't it lonely?! i would only imagine so.
3 random sayings that i'm feeling at the moment:
1. "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all."
2. "bad news bears"
3. "a spot of...(trouble, cake, tea, etc.)"
6 sound bytes:
1. i moved into a new apartment so that's pretty exciting.
2. work is really really busy but good. i get to work with kids but i really can't wait till i get to go to medical school.
3. speaking of which, i had an interview at uc davis that went fairly well with the vice chair of admissions committee (fingers crossed!!!!) so i'll find out either later this month or next month. also, i have an interview coming up on the 23rd at penn state and i'm still waiting to hear from 11 schools and i'm on interview hold at four others.
4. i've been really into vintage-y, indie, and customized clothing lately. i really wish i had the chops to sew b/c i'd love to make stuff. in the meantime, i guess i'll have to settle for ooh-ing and aah-ing on etsy.
5. also i've decided to never drink liquor again. it doesn't taste particularly good; i hate the hell out of being drunk; and shit is expensive. apple and pear cider for me :D
6. i'm trying to reconcile myself with the fact that i'm a total girly girl. let's be honest, i have pink accessories (2 scarves and a pair of earrings), stuffed animals, and i'm maybe (ok, definitely) addicted to cupcakes and pretty, sweet things.
