Not dead, not half-eaten by an Alsatian

Just ... not here, you know? I got to a point where all I could think to write about was work and rants - and not in the good, fun way. So I figured I'd best shut up and wait until I had something positive/nice/not horrible to say ... and look how well that turned out.

At least most of my stress-causing activities are over. Our production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" was a huge success (top school officials went as far as calling it the best play in years) and it's just four weeks before I'm free for good.

The kids and I are doing well. Victor has made some significant progress in the Potty Training of Doom, Fer is generally doing well in school and qualified for financial aid (which may have had something to do with the fact that I was sitting in the comittee overseeing selection ;-)) and they've both started swimming lessons. Those have been quite an adventure because, just like with every other new situation for Victor, he's gotten extra clingy and it got to the point where he spent more time walking from the pool to the chair where I was watching and back than he actually spent IN said pool but I think it's safe to say he's getting better.

And, because no post is complete with a certain amount of obsession, I've only recently been introduced to the charms of Jack Bauer and 24. One of my students loaned me the first season on DVD and I literally couldn't turn it off. I'm about to begin season 2, we'll see how sleep deprived I can get between now and Monday morning =P

That's it in a nutshell. I'll be off now to see what the f-list lovelies have been up to *hugs*

children, tv, work
