Exam fiasco

Grrrr....

I'm the only CPE candidate in the entire state. Which means I can't take it in Guadalajara and so will have to go to Mexico City instead. The catch? Freaking exam is scheduled to be on a Thursday and they won't let me take the Oral component of it on the same day (because I'm bound to do poorly after sitting the written exam from 9 to 3.30 - seriously, WTF?!?), but they won't let me take it on Friday either because that's when all the paperwork gets sent to Cambridge. What the hell are they thinking?? I can't just take off to Mexico City for two or three days in the middle of a work week, a week before finals just because they're morons (Take note, not that I couldn't possibly find things to do in Mexico city it's just that the timing is awful). Then there's the added problem of having to pay for an additional hotel night on top of airfare (because not even I can sit a five-hour exam after 14 hours on a bus) ... *sigh*

And of course, they couldn't let me know all this before I paid the registration fee, right?

And work still sucks. The latest update in what is turning out to be the world's worst soap opera is that now the Spanish coordinator and my boss have all but stopped talking to one another. It's like, I don't know, not talking to your spouse (A bad example because it's not that uncommon but, hey, it's still rather stupid), but what really blows my mind is that the Spanish coordinator went and told the Vice-principal that my boss wouldn't talk to her... EXCUSE ME?? How old are we, five or something? Not even my students are that childish. If I were the boss, I'd just sack the lot of them because they sure as hell have no freaking grasp of ... well, pretty much anything.

Has anybody in the f-list switched to Vista? I'm sorta kinda wondering if it'd be worth the trouble*.

*Yes, I realize that when it comes to Microsoft, the one thing you're guaranteed to have is trouble. Still, I'm curious

cpe, question, work
