She hadn't had a dream in weeks, not one that she could remember anyway, but this one lingered with her when she woke up and it remained with her through every sip of her morning coffee.
It was very simple, really. They were sitting side by side, her head leaning on his shoulder and the fabric of the vest she's only seen in pictures feeling cool against her cheek. His arm then wrapped around her shoulders like it was the most natural thing in the world, like they'd just keep doing it forever. She closed her eyes, so that nothing would take her away from there and then.
She sips the last of her coffee, and wonders...
