An Undeniably Decisive Victory

It's a good sign that sleeping in today consisted of my waking up around 9:30 without an alarm. It was drizzly and grey then and cycling looked dubious. Today is my last free day or evening this week since I'm going to a show tomorrow night and have to work nights through Sunday. Today was the only possible laundry day, so that's what I did first. I'll never admit to liking the laundromat experience, but I will concede that it's much more time efficient than taking laundry to another person's house. I like that all the loads finish around the same time rather than staggered over a whole afternoon.

I stopped at the grocery store after laundry to pick up normal staples: bacon, milk, orange juice, and since there is a bagel shop there, half a dozen bagels to eat with the cream cheese in the fridge. I came home to indulge in a bagel and to fry up the pot of aging rice.

It continued to be rainy all afternoon, but dry on the couch. Justin said he would ride up and watch Britcoms with me in exchange for a cup of coffee. Having brewed my remaining beans yesterday, I made another grocery visit for coffee and came home with chocolate bars and olive oil, too.

We watched an episode of Kroll Show followed by a funnier episode of Fresh Meat (Khoila, you'll LOVE this show in a similar way to Peep Show. It's on Hulu - WATCH IT!). Game time was approaching so I gave Justin and his bike a ride home then picked up pizza at Piecora's and got to Eric's about halfway through the first half of the game. MSU already had a comfortable lead and that would just grow and grow and grow throughout the night.

By the end, it was an absolute blow out against the #4 rated men's basketball team in the country. Michigan missed layup after layup while the Spartans could hardly miss, even with their second then third then fourth string players. Denzel Valentine, son of Carlton Valentine whom we used to watch when he was on Judd Heathcote's team back in the 1986-1987 season, played an especially great game with some fantastic passes. The other players I have come to expect great things from, but Dawson, Payne, and Harris were still great. Gary Harris is thrilling and he's only a freshman. That guy is going to be even HUGER than he already is. This could be a championship year again...

Tomorrow I'm back to work, but I'm not running opening night of Broadway. I'll be seeing the show with Janet (I think) and have a normal office day to start this stretch. First thing in the morning is a special breakfast event with Joey, the horse puppet from War Horse, which I may try to arrive early for. Busy, busy, busy.
