iTunes meme thing?

Nov 29, 2008 23:47

I haven't posted anything in roughly 15 months. I do, somewhere, have an urge to change this. But I keep forgetting. Maybe I'll start trying to post more, so don't give up on me just yet! Meanwhile, here is a something I liked the first time around and thus am reposting...

IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE?
So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button

Opening Credits: Everybody Loves You - Kaki King (Instrumental music is always pimp for opening credits)

Waking Up: Women's Realm - Belle & Sebastian (I wish I woke up to Belle & Sebastian on a daily basis
)

First Day At School: Into The Great Wide Open - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (also accurate. My life movie is awesome thus far.)

Childhood:This Mess We're In - Thom Yorke and PJ Harvey (Probably accurate, since a significant portion of my childhood was a mess)

First Kiss: Cayman Islands - Kings of Convenience (Awwwww...)

Falling In Love: It Doesn't Matter Anymore - Buddy Holly (ironically, SONICALLY its a great song for love, but it's totally a break up song. This is terrible foreshadowing for said falling in love)

Fight Song: Killing In The Name Of - Rage Against The Machine (I am fighting the machine)

Breaking Up: 20 Years of Snow - Regina Spektor (Regina can get me through ANY man trouble)

Prom: Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps - Cake (I wish we danced to this at my prom...this would be more accurate if it was that Aerosmith song from Armageddon)

Life: Naked As We Came - Iron & Wine (I suppose this is a great song for summing the totality of one's life, but how is "life" a scene in a movie? Isn't that the whole movie?)

College: Callbacks - We Are Scientists (College totally was one long We Are Scientists song)

High School: Remind Me - Royksopp (I totally would have listened to this in high school all the time if I would have known it then/it would have existed. I don't think its that old.)

Mental Breakdown: Breathe - Prodigy (I could breakdown to this. OR work out to it.)

Driving: Cigarettes, Wedding Bands - Band Of Horses (Their bassist bled on me.)

Flashback: Closing Time - Semisonic (I suppose if the flashback was to high school?)

Getting Back Together: Roman Candle - Elliott Smith (A terrible omen for the circumstances in which said coupling is rekindled)

Wedding: Pas Si Simple - Yann Tiersen (I would totally wed to anything from the Amelie soundtrack)

Birth of Child: Rebel, Rebel - David Bowie (I hope my child is born in full bowie regalia)

Final Battle: Chiquitita - Abba (Maybe it could be an ironic use of the song. A battle in slow motion. Cinematic GENIUS. Very Wes Andersen)

Death Scene: Happiness - Built To Spill (It can sum up the fact that my life was gritty, but happy. Sweet.)

End Credits: Get Me Away From Here, I'm Dying - Belle & Sebastian (BEST SONG FOR END CREDITS EVER. Why hasn't a real movie used this yet?)
