so after 19 years of being cousins with Wilfred, we FINALLY met up for a meal and catchup (aside from the usual family gatherings and events) and it was quite an enriching and interesting experience. although we were never really close, the circumstances made it such that it was really apt for me to be seeking advice from him and just catching up on the whole. sharing our love for GOOD FOOD, we spent our lunch at nana's and canele HEHEHE. talked about lots of stuff, from me educating him on what a SOUFFLE and MERINGUE was to whether i should be staying in hall (because he studies history at NUS) to pd and i to his church life and love life HAHA. mmm it made me think alot, and there was an analogy he shared with me which i thought was pretty apt and interesting.
he said that in his church they always said that for two people, no matter whether they're of the same faith or not, are like TOAST BREAD. (wahaha my favourite. but thats besides the point).
its like one person has peanut butter spread. the other has jam. and when they're stuck together and then pulled apart, both pieces of toast get abit of peanut butter and jelly on them. its kind of like what happens when two people break up. we both lose a little of ourselves, and gain a little from each other too. SO YES. its cute right HAHA. and yes the quote i posted kind of has no link but i think its cute too. anyway. i guess after everything, like what i've said, i dont regret whatever i had w pd and i guess we both lost and gained some things from each other that will stay with us forever :)
the lemon meringue tart was GOOOOOD. comparable to Mu parlour's one. the waffle was disappointing cuz it had too little batter. STINGY CANELE. but WHO DOESNT LOVE SOME CRISPY BATTER WITH MAPLE SYRUP AND SOME WEIRD HEAVY CREAM (IT DOESNT TASTE LIKE WHIPPED CREAM) HAHA.
this was a really MATCHA matcha latte. not the biggest fan of matcha but this was super flavourful yet refreshing, unlike starbucks/coffeebean's milky version of a matcha latte.
THE TEO COUSINS HEHE. see the resemblance not. round faces (LOL) and small eyes.
second part of the day was another cousins meeting with sheryl and bon! nothing much cept lame talk and hanging w sheryl before she flies to melb for uni!
we had dinner at the sushi bar which imo has a less sinful/gelat version of shiok maki (the two makis in the pic are different if you look closely >:) salmon aburi (which means torched salmon) and salmon softshellcrab aburi!! but the rest of the food is really average. koh sushi grill and bar definitely has more variety and they're yummy too!
oh and then we had dessert from Flor at taka food hall. the ice cheese tart is awesomepowsum as always, but the mont blanc was disapponting, maybe cuz im not a fan of chestnuts but tif loves it. and the matcha swiss roll w azuki cream was average. still remembered how i had two flor cakes for my 18th hehe.
my hair really is like some lion's mane UGHHH UNTAMEABLE SHITZ. (both bon and pd said the same thing) LOL GUYS.
yup sooo this rounds off my sinful saturday LOL why do i even bother going for zumba/kickboxing/gym/swimming SERIOUSLY.
xx
