GAMD: 20-September-2022, Macau

Sep 20, 2022 23:02

Ah... a GAMD on a Tuesday... luckily I just so happened to have something out of the ordinary going on today to make it a tiny bit more interesting.

However, half the time I forgot to take phtoos today, so I have some random-ish photos to show. I forgot my morning shot. Which in retrospect, is always that window in my room anyway. Here's instead a shot of something like an "inner courtyard" of the building estate where I live in. This was taken after taking the dogs out for their walk.

Dad had Frankie during the walk and apparently Frankie found a frog (tree frog? leaf frog? a small brownish frog?) and had it in his mouth, but then spit the frog out and then started salivating and foaming. Once we got home, I had to try to open his mouth and wipe his tongue, which is a challenge for these flat-snout dogs, then prayed what he had in his mouth wasn't poisonous. Menina was following me around so I have a photo of her as well.

Frankie seemed to still have an appetite and ate his breakfast, and when the dogs were settled I had my breakfast. I had extra eating plans today so I decided on a super light breakfast - just a mug of high calcium milk. Kitty the cat makes an appearance.

Because of my not-ordinary plan today, I asked to drive my car and I got it. Gee. Why do I even have to ask for permission to drive my own car. I wanted to park at the car park in the company building, but I did not want people to say I have abusing power, so I just parked outside in the street in a parkometer space. So, I had to go into the office via another way.

The parkometer where I parked only has a 2-hour pay limit, so I set a countdown for myself for 1 hour 45 minutes to remind me to go add money to the parkometer. My screen in the office is starting to get wonky. The wonky bar at first only covered the Start Menu Bar... now it's creeping up. I guess it's time I have to submit a request to get a replacement. But this monitor was a hard-earned monitor. When I first got transferred/promoted I had to build a whole business case for my ex-Boss explaining why I needed a new monitor (I had a shoddy 15" thing before!)

I wasn't writing notes, but had this selfie of me rolling my eyes to remind myself of the ridiculous incident. The other ladies were trying to cook breakfast, I think they had some kind of cereal of oatmeal or maize or whatnot. We don't have an actual kitchen, just a pantry for making tea, so there's no exhaust system... but they cooked and burnt the thing they were cooking so the whole office stank of burnt food.

Eventually it was time for me to go down and add money to the parkometer. My money card had no money so I had to detour to a 7-11 to add money to it. Also have a look at my pretty car! I really like it. It's 18 years already! The norm here is to trade in and buy a new car when the car gets to around 7 years (recently, before it was 10 years) because once the car reaches 7 years, it will need to go for a yearly inspection. I have a mechanic that handles or that, he always suggests to "fix the car instead of buying a new car" because, after doing to math, indeed, it's cheaper to fix the car rather than buy a new car in the long run. However, one of the oil tanks in my car has a hairline crack or something, and the mechanic says it's unfixable, and with the car being so old, he can't find the spare part. So he's suggested we get a new car. I told him to start hunting for similar second hand cars.

Back in the office, the ladies are chit chatting and making so much noise I decided to hide out in my Boss' room for a bit. Why can't people work while being quiet?

Lunch! I had to make a quick trip down to add money again. I also forgot to shoot my lunch, a light salad and a tomato soup, so I have a photo of my lunch clutch bag LOL. Royal Corgi FTW!

At around 3:30pm I left the office. My Boss received a voucher for an afternoon tea set for 2 at a nice hotel-restaurant (okay let's not beat around bush, it's the Ritz-Carlton). He said he's not going and told me to use it. So I brought my trusty assistant - yes, I made my assistant play truant. Sorry Not Sorry. I work her pretty hard and she's very efficient, I have to reward her somehow. Scones (not pictured) weren't anything to tell home about. For the savory, only the foie gras mille feuille was good, I liked the lemon tart, but the best item of all was... the toasted walnuts on top of the chocolate cake.

Drove my assistant home then I made my way home in all the terrible traffic. However this photo makes it look not bad... I happened to be on the front line at a red light.

So Frankie greeted me when I opened the door, so, not dead yet. Good dog! I had planned to not eat, but the parents said they cooked my portion already *rolls eyes* so I have to eat. It's all that 80s way to make kids eat kind of mentality. "Think of all the kids in Somalia!".... as if, my finishing my food will be of any help for the kids in Somalia. I digress. We go out for the night time dog walk! The old dog park is finally opened again!

We get home and I open the package that I picked up from the forwarder pick-up point. It's an apron for my ceramics class. When I applied the lady didn't tell me anything, and when I went for the classes last week the teacher said "you have to bring your own apron, but you can still use any apron currently hanging" so....... I ordered a cheap but sturdy apron from Taobao. Nutmeg says Hi to everyone.

The usual night rituals and just before I head off to bed, I'm here typing this up.

Hope you enjoyed my day!
