Perhaps the biggest plot hole in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince [Film]

If it is possible to produce water from your wand, ALA Harry refilling the fountain in the middle of the cave, then why is it the Weasley’s, Tonks, Lupin and Harry simply stand outside, watching in horror as the burrow burns spectacularly to the ground?

Well I’ve just ( Read more... )

... Okay, that movie is gonna piss me off WAYYYY more than I even anticipated. And that is quite a feat. Dammit. :\

Oh, Cam. *double facepalms*

:p

I just despise that character, I hope it doesn't hurt your feelings or anything 'cause you like her, but ... yeah. She ruins the entire movie for me - I can't even pay attention to anything else. >>

But! Vivian Liegh is amazing (just, she played a character I don't like in a movie I don't like *cough*understatement*cough*), and she was absolutely GORGEOUS in this movie called "Waterloo Bridge", I think. Most depressing movie in the history of the UNIVERSE (to an almost hilarious degree), but my, she and the cinematography and scenery is all very beautiful. On that alone I think you might like it. :)

And and and! Can't help reading comments, and it's very on topic to your post! My friend Brendan told me about the Harvey remake! Dude! You took Harvey out to SEE? Hello!!!!!

Time for me to buy a plane ticket. >>

The only movie I love more is IAWL and I SO wanna see it with you! *cries* And like I was talking about with Tim Burton being the exception that proves the rule ... I've heard murmurings of a remake of this incredible film (based on a pulitzer prize-winning play! :)) for years and years now, and just DREADED it because I have such love for the original. (Jimmy played Elwood in the play, too. :))

And then I look it up and find that Spielberg is directing.

Damn! O.o

That is the only way in hell I could ever be HAPPY about such a movie. But now I'm totally intrigued and excited. It might actually be ... good! :)

And, heh, I know more about Alice than a general synopsis. *cough* I couldn't hold in my curiousity. Which is actually quite appropriate, considering the character! ^^

I knew it! A-ha, you see I guessed correctly your hatred of Scarlett. *points above* And not offended at all. Like I say, she's a totally hate-able character, even as I explained my reasons for liking her. *nods* I understand it all.

Come to think of it, Rhett isn't all that nice himself, but at least he later calls Scarlett out on her bullshit.

But you know I love the part when she realises help is not coming and that she will have to deliver that baby herself. The way she goes about rebuilding herself and her family. Her sisters, who are mostly useless, her father who has lost his mind. You have to give her credit for protecting these people she loves. And actually doing something about it, taking charge herself instead of always being rescued.

My biggest problem is, she sort of reverts back to old habits, by which time Rhett has had enough and leaves her. It could have been so much greater if she stopped her foolishness and learned from her mistakes, yet somehow, I don't get the feeling she has.

I also loved her (and Marlon Brando) in Streetcar. Waterloo Bridge is now on the list. :D Also, my grandma told me my grandfather took her to see Saw Vivian Leigh in a play when she was young. O.O And that she was so good, by the end there were tears streaming down her face. Just to see her and Lawrence Olivier do their thing, live. My god it would have been awesome. I'm often cursing the fact I wasn't born in a different era! Like with James Dean for example. I would have loved to have seen him in one of his plays, before he made it big.
