Things That Made Me Happy This Week, Week Eighteen

  • Reorganizing my library--I finished entering all of the books that I had displayed into my database, so I was finally able to put them back up. I wind up reorganizing the things--moving different author/genre sections to different shelves, putting different things in front--about every year, and it was a pleasant diversion.
  • German techno--huh?! I blame Ben for this. Somewhat more than a year ago he gave a presentation in our German class on E Nomine, a German techno/trance/Gregorian chant group; a few days ago I found a few songs I downloaded back then, and now I'm hooked again. Come on, there's a techno version of The Lord's Prayer in angry-German! How can I not love it?
  • I had the perfect vantage point from my bedroom window to catch someone's backyard fireworks half a block away. Then the thunder and Lightning started up, which was awesome--I don't exactly get to see fireworks and lightning side by side every day.
  • Thursday was the 320th anniversary of Newton's Principia Mathematica. Has it been that long already?
  • Oy!
  • Yesterday would've been Robert Heinlein's centennial birthday. This man has a good article on the subject, and SFSignal has a pretty good rundown of links.

regular features, links, happiness
