Gratitude
Today, I am thankful for:
The fact that we are credit card free. Sure, it makes the holiday gift buying a study in creative money management, but it's such a relief to not have all the extra bills in January.
My kitchen skills. It's just barely December, and people are asking when the holiday cookies will arrive.
My jewelry skills. It may make us a few extra bucks for the holidays.
Living in the most economically stable city of its size in the US
My life. It's not glamorous, it's not packed with excitement; I'm not rich or heart-stoppingly beautiful; I don't drive an expensive car or live in a posh house or drip with jewels. But my life is exactly what I both want and need -- full of love from family and friends, with a roof over my head, food to eat, and money coming in to pay the bills and keep us in a potentially expensive hobby. Call me simple, for that's all I need.
