making a dent

I finished my part of the gifts for Crown List today. I'll post pictures after they're presented.  (Yes, I think they're that cool.  *lol*)

Got a good start on the gold underdress, so I should be able to finish it tomorrow without any trouble.  I need to decide what pattern I want to use to make the coat so I can cut the silk and dye it.  It's a natural shadow stripe right now; it needs to be black.  I have the ribbon to sew onto the woven wire circlet to make it fit better.  That will also make it more fillet-like, which is not only more accurate but will make it easier to pin on the veil.  Have to make the veil pins and the wealth chain, too, but those won't take long.  And I have to make the veil. . . but I have to find the fabric first.  That's what I get for taking everything out of the tubs and putting them Someplace Safe, but not in the same Safe Place.  Sheesh.

Dugal will cast the brooches in the morning.  I can use the Porcelaine paint on them, then he can mount the pearls.  They look almost exactly like the picture of the extant brooch I found.

I have a week to finish the garby things, then I have to do the precooking for the Queen's Tea luncheon.

Gotta get by the cake decorating store and buy some red dipping chocolate so I can experiment with the chocolate pate roses for the  lunch.  I'm using the dipping chocolate instead of bittersweet, and I want to use vanilla drink mix instead of cocoa powder.  I'll be curious to see how or if the extra sugar in the drink mix affects the consistency and flavor.  I guess I should see if I have a rose mold, too.

Even though I still have a good bit of work ahead of me, I finally feel like it's starting to come together instead of piling up and staring at me.
