A GREAT DAY FOR A FANGIRL

Jul 03, 2010 22:37

So, Anime Expo today was AWESOME, and AMAZING, and SUPERFANTABULOUS. Here is the basic outline of what I did, followed by fangirly details. (Bands are linked to youtube videos of their songs.)

-~12 I went to the SOPHIA concert, which was opened by Beni over at the Nokia theater
-~3 ran over to the Nokia Plaza to watch AX Idol, opened by Eyeshine
-After Eyeshine performed, ran back to the convention center because my friend found Supernatural patches (which I did not buy...no Cas)
-On the way to the convention center, saw SOPHIA's vocalist walking down the sidewalk and freaked him out by hugging him (YES!! I FINALLY GOT TO HUG HIM!)
-Ran back to the Nokia Plaza in time for Vic Mignogna to be introduced (he was a judge)
-After it was all finished up walked around the convention center looking for the Castiel and Anna cosplayers that my friend saw while I was at the concert (unfortunately, I failed)

-OH GOD THIS CONCERT WAS AMAZING AND WONDERFUL AND THERE WAS SO MUCH ENERGY AND THE JAPANESE FANCLUB WAS ADORABLE AND THE SINGER IS SUCH A DORK. It makes me kind of...I don't even know what word to use because I realized that, like, half the reason I find him so pretty and adorable is that he is quite flamboyant. WHY DO I WANT A GAY BOYFRIEND SO BADLY?!?! Anyways, the concert was opened by Beni, who lived in SoCal when she was in elementary school so she knew English and that was nice :) She is a pretty good dancer too. BACK TO SOPHIA. I am so sad that they didn't allow cameras, there was so much wonderful stuff. The fanclub that came over from Japan got front seating, and they were there jumping around and waving their hands in the air (note: I may start working out by listening to SOPHIA and waving my arms around like them. It was quite a workout for my non-exsistent arm muscles). At the end of the concert, Mitsuru revealed that he is a Kamen Rider, which is apparently the Japanese equivalent of Power Rangers (I'm totally going to watch it if I can find it subbed)

-So, AX Idol, basically American Idol but with both singing and voice acting. We went for Eyeshine, Johnny Yong Bosch's band (he's the voice of Ichigo, Lelouch, er....a lot of other stuff....). They were awesome :) Me and my friend were right up in front. Before it started we got a picture with Johnny and his autograph. Also, when I first got there I found my friend, sat down next to him, and looked up to see someone I knew from middle school. I stared, and yelled out her name, and then we hung out until AX Idol was over :) It's so fun running into people you didn't expect to. While Eyeshine was playing the girls next to me started jumping up and down and squealing because they had seen Vic Mignogna (Dark Mousy, Edward Elric, Tamaki Suoh, and, um, a lot of other stuff) in the back.

-So, apparently RIGHT after I left to go to the concert my friend found Castiel and Anna cosplayers. Also, in the exhibit hall where they were selling everything, he found Supernatural patches. I fangirled, then we went to go look at them while they were setting up for the other AX Idol performances. On the way there I saw Mitsuru and, well...I just kinda stopped in the middle of the sidewalk, held my arms out and tried to ask him for a hug. Not understanding English, he was very confused, and I think I freaked him out because I then hugged him and ran off. Veeery embarrasing that was. The entire time we were looking for the booth selling the patches I was making weird noises and flailing my arms. Even now I'm getting all fangirl embarassed and stuff.

-After we FINALLY found the patches, I decided I didn't want to buy them, and we went back to Nokia Plaza. We got out front row spots back, and we sat through the whole thing. Those people are really talented. The real reason we stayed, though, was Vic Mignogna. Oh, and we also saw Yuri Lowenthal (Sasuke, Ben 10, other stuff that I don't know of). His name makes me giggle :3 *immature fangirl* Hmm...let's see...I saw a guy with a Tardis :D Yeah there wasn't all that much excitement other than the voice actors over at AX Idol. It was still awesome though. When I went through my phase where I was obsessed with watching panel videos on youtube, all I wanted was to see Vic Mignogna in real life. That wish has been realized.

-Once AX Idol was over, me and my friend walked around hunting for Cas and Anna. I walked around repeating "trenchcoat trenchcoat trenchcoat" and I got excited everytime I saw one. Didn't see Cas though. Oh well. So, on my AX badge, I have Kyle Herbert's autograph, Vic Mignogna, Yuri Lowenthal, and Johnny Yong Bosch :) This was a wonderful day, and I'm all tuckered out now. Tomorrow, I'm not gonna go becuase there isn't much and we would have to get back before 12 to go to my aunt's house. Buuuut....FIREWORKS! WOOHOO, WE'LL CELEBRATE OUR COUNTRIES INDEPENDENCE BY SIMULATING A WAR! *nerdfighters nerdfighters nerdfighters*

So, in essence, the day will be known as the day I freaked out a Japanese rock star that I have a foreign-crush on. Off to watch him be a Kamen Rider or whatever. (Apparently 'kamen' means 'masked', so it's 'Masked Rider') I need to learn Japanese so that I don't freak Japanese people out anymore...or at least I can freak them out in their own language.
EDIT: So, Mitsuru will be a Kamen Rider. When the movie he's in comes out in AUGUST. But it comes out in Japan, so who knows how long I'll have to wait for it to be subbed. At least I didn't start watching too much of the old version I found on Veoh. The quality...I don't think I would have liked it. BUT GAAAH IT'S SUPPOSEDLY GOING TO BE IN 3D. WHY IS EVERYTHING IN 3D NOWADAYS? But you know what? I still had loads of fun today. BUT I WANT MY KAMEN RIDER. RAWR. *mentally huggles memories...especially the memory of Mitsuru hugging a lamp, and me freaking him out*

EDIT2 : Ooooh yeah, and I forgot to say. Those of you who follow Misha on twitter, I know you all called that number. You know how it's for the LA Metro Lost and Found? I was totally riding the metro to and from the expo. FOR SOME REASON THIS MAKES ME FEEL SPECIAL. NYAH!!!

castiel, i love my life sometimes, weirdness, fangirling, my brain is crazy, spazzy, cuteboy, i'm a nerd, music, fandom rules my life, ramble ramble ramble
