I couldn't reach H by phone Friday or Saturday. She called me today. She's staying with Aunt R until Wednesday! Argh! I need to squeeze that sturdy little body! She misses mom-hugs too. We shall have a hugfest.
Y had a school trip today and enjoyed himself. He brought me (1) a rock that looks like a long but tiny staircase (2) a thin, smooth rock (3) a small, many faceted, many colored rock (4) a large piece of hardened sap that is an almost clear yellow. Those weren't from the trip, though, :D , just from his walk to his aunt's house this afternoon.
A is busy with his cousin Ar. Basically they are in and out of the pool. Their Aunt B has been feeding them for the most part, which is good. Pickin's are slim here.
The first few days of the month I finished off what was left of the whole wheat bread and the oatmeal. I snagged some fruit from the ex when I was there to discuss some child-related matter. Yesterday and today I had peanut butter sandwiches on white bread. Ya did too. She likes eggs, though, so she's happy as long as those hold out. I used our last package of spaghetti (not whole grain) and made sauce.
I told the kids that if they want food they have to ask their dad for it. He has invited them to eat a couple times. I hate begging for every little grain of salt and being degraded on top of it. I suggested to Ya that she go shopping with him. But she doesn't want to deal with him either. Eventually she may learn to do it anyway. She went to his apartment today because she wanted to ask Y, who was watching t.v. there, to walk to Aunt B's with her. The ex said, "To what do I owe the honor of having you here?" It is just what he says to my step-daughters. And just as they only countenance him when the need to, the same is true of Ya. Actually, even when she needs to, she often forgoes that honor and goes without. I have to get this divorce finalized and get out of here.
Ya burnt herself well at the beach the other day. So she's been dealing with the pain and trying to lessen it. Today she's feeling better and complained that I don't want her to have any fun when I said she needed to come home in an hour if she wanted to "hang out" up in the village. :P
