Yesterday was beautiful with a bright blue sky and sunshine. It didn't manage to shine in the doorway when I left it open. I did lift the curtain that keeps the heat in the main part of the house in winter, so light would come in from the skylight. I worked on the cistern roof a bit, which has been a disaster since last Sukkot. I think I will need help to put every thing back where it belongs. Two people on ladders and one on the ground I think. Since A is probably the only one who will be willing to help, I'm not sure how to do it.

Belatedly I remembered that A's final test on the multiplication table is tomorrow. So we worked on that until he was too tired for anything else to enter his brain.

Y had a lovely time with Ni, and even read her a story. Which was Kn's influence I'm sure. You can take the Russian out of Moscow, but not Moscow out of the Russian. Every thing hinges on education for her. And I envy her that foundation. My own children are like I was as a child, and do not realize what a gift free education is.

When I cleaned the floor, the cat jumped about on the furniture to keep track of the flow of sudsy water as I squeegeed it toward the drain. When it got too close for comfort--suddenly appearing three feet under her nose as she balanced on the end of the buffet--she retreated. She busied herself with grooming to show that she was simply no longer interested rather than frightened of getting wet.

sun, y, a, cleaning, kn, sweetie, ni
