Time Zones

I know Time Zones can be confusing to some if not all of us.

All Glee!Land challenges are now in Eastern Daylight Time - so what time is that where you live?

GO HERE TO FIND OUT.

FYI - Your kindly Mod lives in Puerto Rico.  We do not observe DST, and actually fall into Atlantic Standard Time all year long, which is UTC -4.  During summer, most of the world shifts, and when the US shifts to EDT, we're in sync.  It becomes easier for me to say Eastern than Atlantic, which is a lesser know time zone.

Photoshop

Not everyone has Photoshop, but for graphic challenges, you can still participate even if you don't.  There are many other resources and here are just a few:

Pixlr - is an online photo editor program, that works similar to Photoshop.  You don't even need to register to use it.  **Recommended.

GIMP - is a freeware program that is the standard Photoshop substitute.  This one downloads for free and you can use on your computer, offline.  **Recommended.

LunaPic - a simpler photo editing website.

FotoFlexer - another advanced online photo editing site

Picasa - Google's free photo editing software.

Open Challenges

I'm keeping up with my tags, and the most important one for you guys is the !open challenge tag.   Clicking on it will filter the comm to show you only those challenges that are still open.  Remember to check the deadline though.  I might get around to changing the tag an hour or even a day later.

ALL OPEN CHALLENGES

Drop by the Suggestion Box and leave me your thoughts, ideas, comments, con-crit, suggestions, discussion topics, etc.  Comments are screened.  Go Wild!  Remember that I am the Mod.  Stay respectful.

You have team communities!  These were made not just for team challenges, but as a place you can encourage your team mates, remind each other about open challenges, congratulate each other, help each other (as per each challenge rules) and become friends.

Believe me, I've made great friends in my team comm for merlin_land .

Go and hang out!

Participation is key.  One comment in a discussion challenge (which takes less than 3 minutes) can get your team 5 points. Post two comments, and you're up to 10 points.  Teams have 9+ members now.  That's 90 points per team if you can post at least two comments.

Caption, Jigsaw and other simple challenges won't take more than 10 - 15 minutes and can get your team anywhere from 5 to 30+ points, per member, for the team.  Be sure to make notice of large point maker challenges, like the Guess The Episode challenge.  You can rack up a lot of points for your teams in some challenges.

But most of all, HAVE FUN!
