The forecast for the weekend is usual for the Lower Mainland: rain, rain and again rain. But this doesn’t bother me at all. I really love the rain and enjoy it walking gloomy wet days in the forest looking at local mountain tops, watching how they are changing their colors from deep green to silver white. Rain in the valley these days means snow at elevation and oncoming ski season. And rain is the reason why our forest is not a forest at all but beautiful rainforest. Rain is different, and I like how Kitsilano stone poem says about this: “There is booming rain and whispery rain, rain that lulls you to sleep and rain to sing you awake. The rain brings us all the shades of gray, but it also brings us the wonderful greenery which surrounds and blesses us”.
I am not watching news much these days being busy with different activities in the office and at home. But one event has to be mentioned and recorded in my electronic diary :) This morning Adriana, my Argentinian-Canadian colleague, announced: “Cristina and Putin are in love”. My sources of news (CBC, BBC, CNN and Aljazeera) kept mum about such important thing :) I googled names to get the data and got them. Yes, YouTube proves this news showing the event of their TV date in many videos saved today. People of Argentina are closer to Russian kleptocratic criminal now and may enjoy Russian propaganda in full scale as most of Russians (87% or so, if this is true) are doing now.
The Thursday evening was pleasant. I had a chance to walk with my younger grandson in the neighborhood of my older kids. We met and fed a 100 year old raven. Look at its claws and you understand that the life of this bird was really long:
It’s the middle of October and the sun is going to hid itself behind the horizon very fast. Approximately at 6:45 pm it looked like this:
Entrance to the village harbour at low sun light:
Big boy likes to pose me:
Walking in the wilderness:
Local couple of swans on their evening walk:
Encircle the cape:
And take the way to King Crab restaurant as usually in the evening:
Gulls in a hurry to the nearest landfill yet not dark:
Take a rest a bit and stomped home:
