Snow, snow everywhere, and not a drop to drink...

Well, we've had one of our more substantial snowfalls of the season. From Friday through about three hours ago, it's been snowing. Sometimes, heavily, sometimes just spitting. Wheat do we have to show for it? About an inch on the ground in the shade, if you're lucky. The temp's not been over freezing all day. I guess the Eastman Bubble is stronger now than in the past.

And for an update on the slipped disc, I'm walking with a cane now. Well, a staff, but that's just me. And it's not all the time, but I know where it's at at all times. I came in from the back porch Friday night, and got as far as the kitchen table before I just completely froze up. I'm hoping that it's more related to the cold weather than anything. At least I have a wonderful new nickname now...

Gandalf the Gimp. Gotta' love it.

At least the staff is a nice one. Pa found this years ago, and I've taken possesion of it since. The original idea (Pa and I worked together on this one) was to carve a dragon's head near the top of the staff with its wings raised above its head. Possibly a snake climbing up the staff as well. We'll see what happens, but the first step now is to work on sanding it smooth. It's been smoothed out with many a pocket knife, but there's still some burrs on it. At least it's something to look forward to.
