I'll tell you what it is--it's catching! thelovemafia brought this up in a post and the idea has plagued me ever since. So I pretty much just sat down tonight and wrote the damn thing and it's so long! I haven't written a fanfic this long since...since...I don't know when, but why is this so long? Anyway, you know who to blame this insanity on...

I am so glad Spanner turned up in the manga, if only to see what you could do with him! *smiles*

Thank you for writing about that robotics competition! ♥ Since I read the line I've wanted to see how this could have been like, and your version was wonderful. I loved this part best:

And of course, the mention of British!Spanner. *grin* Who knew how to speak Japanese at that age!

LOVED THIS. ♥ The mutual respect and admiration is a lovely touch - as, of course, is the Geek Love.

I loved you having Spanner being a touch unbalanced!

Both being inventors, however, goes a long way to figuring the mechanics out.

Shouichi could not so willingly condemn brilliance to death and Spanner could not help seeking brilliance in any form.
I loved this, and the contrast going between past and present as the story plays out. I loved Spanner calling Tsuna the little Vongola! I loved how What Happened to Tsuna stays a half-mystery and we can make our guesses as to how that turned out.

And I really liked the ending! I think it was true to both of them.

This was really so much fun to write; I'm glad you gave me the idea! Originally I was going to be more smutty with it, but it didn't quite fit with the tone of the story for there to a random sex scene (though I really wanted to write on! *laughs*)

I hear the Brits breed fanboys to start at an early age *grins* No, I really don't know. I just figured it was more IC for Spanner to know Japanese than for Shouichi to know English...

I just read translations for this chapter on mangahelpers.com and when Tsuna is talking, Spanner says something that sounds like he thinks more than one person is talking to him. Schizophrenic, perhaps? But definitely crazy XD

Originally I thought that Tsuna would be in a Mosca somewhere watching this unfold (in the same vein of SMUT), the young voyeur that he is XD *laughs* I almost wrote that in, but I'm glad now that I didn't. The story works better the way it is.
