This seems rather odd, doesn't it? Well, someone told me my posts were to long. I've forgotten who....anyway.
Back to Borders! Oh, I wish...
Victory! They had Dazzle #4! But only one copy! *sob*
Well, Jess ran all around that store, trying to get another one. She even called another store! But when that didn't work, do you know what she did? DO YOU?!!!
She gave it to me! ME!!!!
Even though she had seen it first. Even though she was the one who lent me her #1 to read, thus making me a fan of the book.
I'm just so...I don't have any otaku friends at school. There's no one to squee with up there....
Anyway, we read manga in the children's section at Borders. I bought some of what I read, plus a couple of recommended ones. Good times.
Some time later, we got ourselves up and out to run to Barnes & Noble, eat, and pick up tickets for a movie. We had sushi. Duh.
While waiting for the movie and a frind to arrive, we wandered over to a comic book store (joy!) and Barnes & Noble again. More manga was read. I bought one more. No sign of Dazzle. Or any title I was looking for, really. But that's B&N for you...
Anyhoo, we went to the movies, met the friend, and watched The Holiday. I wasn't expecting much, but that movie was good. I love Kate Winslet! I liked her character so much, if I had a big sister, I'd want her to be she. Definitely gonna buy that one. Oh and Jude Law...damn.
So we ended the evening by finishing Attack the Gas Station and reading lots of manga. The next day, I packed for the last time and we piled into Isa's car, thus saying good bye to Towson. I spent a few more hours with her and Jess and after some pizza, Isa and I headed back to our respective counties. I borrowed lots of manga. ^_^
So that was it. Best New Year's ever. 'Course, every time I go to Towson, I don't want to go back to my school. You'd think we were being abused up there, the way I go on. But they're so different!
Gawd, I'm such a geek. One of the greatest temptations of my life and it's school!
Sometimes I wish I'd never heard of my school. But then I wouldn't have met all my college friends. And they totally kick ass. Like, mad, dope ass.
*le sigh*
How sad. I'm going to eat and watch Sin City. Or rather, let the menu cycle over and over so I can hear the instrumental version of "Cells". Always cheers me up.
Ta!
good times,
new year
