I like many different cups of tea, and as I'm sort of a geek about the writing process I've found myself reading things with content I don't particularly care for just because the way it's being written intrigues me. That said I's read this for the content, though maybe skim over some of the dub-con sections depending on how I was feeling that day.
Most of the things I find questionable is plot hole wise for the set up like what was the original reason the red lanterns had for destroying the planet? For as trigger happy as they were with those liberators they always seemed to have at least some sort of flimsy reason. Does Saint Walker know the entire time that the Red Lanterns are responsible, or does he learn later like Razer did? Saint Walker's style is very different than what we see the red lanterns use, does he learn it from someone in particular, or just sort of learn it in response to the red lanterns trying to teach him?
This is me being encouraging, by the way, whatever it may look like (plus you should never apologize to me for word vomiting, one I love words, so it's all awesome, two I tend to respond in kind. Oh, look, here I go).
I have..three right now I think that would be possibilities, and I think the only straight up romantic relationship would be in the one where a red lantern Ilana from an alternate universe comes trough some sort of portal. That one would have Razer/Ilana, and possibly dub-con via brainwashing and being emotionally vulnerable Ilana/Atrocitus. That one I would have the least outlining for, so it would be kinda seat of my pants writing.
The second option would be the one that I have started in the anon meme here. That one though is a honkin monster of an idea, and if I do that I might need to split the story up into a series, but I don't know how well that would work. A lot of world building in this about how Atrocitus got his army together, and eventually a split in the ranks of the Red Lanterns which, because of the religious aspects Atrocitus worked into his propaganda, ends up bringing similar aspects into the rebel reds focusing around Razer because he was the first one to split. Would deal with Razer's depression, and other such things more, and eventually take advantage of the changes made in the red lanterns for the show. Romance would be lots of past Razer/Ilana, some hintings of Razer/Aya, but with all those pesky little problems, and doubtfully going farther then Razer trying to figure out his feelings, and a sort of one-sided Razer/Bleez from Bleez's side, mostly because Razer never payed attention to her in a romantic/sexual way, and taking into account Bleez's origin in the comics (though that may be changed slightly for the story). Biggest problem with this one would be the sheer size of everything I want to tackle.
And last I have a Green Lantern/Wizard of Oz Fusion, with Hal Jordon in the place of Dorthy. I have a whole bunch of stuff with that (here - http://thingamawhatsit.livejournal.com/10902.html - if you want to look at it), and that would have probably the same amount of romance as what we have in the show, if that. Probably the most realistic for me to finish in time.
Maybe I could aim for two, with one being the Oz one, and then, well, I'd have time to figure out if it was too much and drop stuff...
