In other news, nothing has been happening. Not really, anyways. President's Ball was last Friday, I had a few drinks with the old B-52's up there, then sat by the river with Nat and friends. Then I came back, St. Tom ran in with a Nicky crisis, who later was brought back by the porters and passed out. It was a bit of fun, that. Then we sat in the kitchen and had a talk, and I mostly ended up talking at Pen and Adam- just rambling on about stuff, in a post-slightly drunken (really more like tipsy-on-the-verge-of-drunkenness) Jenn state.
So since then I've been doing some reading for my first exam, on Writing and the Working Class. Its been going pretty well, just lots of books to read and then I really ought to read some criticism and general books on writing and the working class from 1850-pretty much now, but most of the books concentrate on 1880-1910 or so.
The weather is finally nice and rainy and cloudy here. The last two weeks we had sun and blue skies all day long, probably about 70F, which is maybe 18C.
I have also been perfecting my philosophies. But that is a whole other, very long post in itself. I think I spend most of my day thinking about it. It doesn't help that English classes bring it up. History as well, but in a different, less...er, theoretical way. I really couldn't give up one or the other- history or english literature, that is. And I think it would be nice to take a few Film and Media courses, and some Philosophy ones, and Anthropology, and Religious Studies, and Archaeology, and Ancient History, or pretty much any humanities they offer here. Though I'd want to take the interesting courses, not the introductory stuff because then it is all just theory and it is boring.
It was awesome today, at the store- cream cheese was 2 for 1 GBP. I really need to find out the code thing for the pound symbol. £. Copying and pasting it works just as well, I suppose.
OH! And now the library subscribes to JSTOR, so I can finally access all those articles that come up when I search for things on Google. Its about bloody time, after the essays have all been turned in, after it would have been useful to have that article that was all about what my essay was on, when I could hardly find any criticism on it anywhere else. But yeah, totally sweet.
