Just as Isaac thought everything was quiet, Etta scratched behind the door and whimpered again.
"How long is she staying in there?"
"Long enough to learn she can't keep jumping on people. Been going on all week and it's annoying," Tommy said matter-of-factly and grabbed another beer.
"She's a baby, she doesn't know better."
"Babies can't learn? You'll be a treat whenever you have kids."
Isaac would've had a quip if Etta hadn't given her squeaky howl then. It was too amusing to watch Tommy's expression of parental guilt as he rushed for the door to let her back in.
