My Delerium

Dec 03, 2004 03:43

Quite often I have a lot of trouble sleeping. This is something I've been working on with my psychiatrist, but that's another story. When trying to sleep, I often fall into what I call a Delerium. I am not asleep, nor am I awake-but in a hellish place somewhere in between which offers no rest or rejuviation. And in that place my mind will be locked ( Read more... )

You're an excellent writer. I suggest writing more. I wish I had your way with words--I always have. I remember in college and after, if someone said I had a great way with words or was witty, I'd say, "Thanks, but you should meet my brother."

Did you know that you can write LJ entries for yourself only? If you enter them as "private" no one else will see them. Or you can get a nice leather-bound book and a fountain pen and just write write write. Stream of consciousness stuff. I think that it would help. I think, for what is worth, that the entry you just made is a good one. You are facing your demons. Facing them doesn't mean you have to fight them. Just accepting them and moving on is a giant step. We all have demons. Ignoring them is better than denying them. They can't control you, so don't be afraid. We make choices every day. Just make the best ones you can.

Thanks for your kind words. You're right about the ignore the deamon idea. I think the key is to first recognize that they exist, and that they were there stopping me all along; blocking my path. Then I can walk around them and move on. The key is to let their power/signifigance fade- they then lose their power over me. (it also helps to put them into a past context) Then I'm not weighed down dragging so much of the past behind me.

The Will you have shown in this confrontation is stronger than any mortal object. No firearm, knife, stungun, cannon, or rocket can exorcise your demons. However,
Your mind...according to this post is doing a pretty damn good job on it's own! Hua!

Thanks. Never give up, never surrender! To know someone thinks, or has noticed, my force of will is respectable, well, thanks. I often have such a low opinion of myself. Makes me feel proud of how far I have come. I'm still here, and I'm still dancing. Every now and then I need to look at the big picture, and remember I'm fightin' for my life here. Take that last at whatever level you will-no threats implied, please.
