There's something very clever and appealing about Sufjan's music. Like how he writes tributes to cities that anyone can enjoy and relate to, or songs about mass murderers which sound like lullabies, or turns the topic of wasp swarms in Illinois into a haunting nostalgic song about his best friend. Dad got a new car! It has full blown new car smell and looks like a asphalt coloured bubble - which isnt that logical, when you think that dad wanted the colour that is most obvious and thus has the least accidents (bright yellow).
