We are back from Northway! Yesterday was the nicest weather day we had! It was sunny and in the 60s..SO nice!! Later the guys who were relieving mom arrived and the guy who does the weather at night (Aaron) also arrived with his family. On Wednesday the weather finally started getting nicer! It snowed the night before! Ugh. I saw some blue sky and finally saw the three mountain ranges you can see here: the Alaska Range, the Wrangells and the Nutzotins. It looks like they all blend together. More pilots landed too. Wow, today has been interesting! It's been so busy! Four planes have landed so far (other pilots have called mom too but they didn't land here) and people keep calling. It's been somewhat busier in Northway today, though mom said most of the action was when I was sleeping haha. OMG this weather is CRAZY though..it's snowing, foggy, really windy and COLD. WTF?? A whole bunch of places set records..in the Brooks Range it was -6 with a -30 wind chill!! Fairbanks set a record too..in the 20s I think. It seems like ( Read more... )

So yesterday we drove to Northway..now I can say I've been on *some* of the Alcan Highway at least. :P Most things are still pretty frozen! I saw some new rivers, which was cool. Tomorrow mom and I go to Northway! (She's working there for a week) There is a computer there but I'm not sure how fast the Internet is there. Hopefully I'll be able to check in haha. I'm bringing lots of DVDs and books. Northway is about 5 hours southeast of here..it'll be cool to see new scenery! It'll be interesting to see mom at work too. ( Read more... )
