Last night my parents and I went to a program called Dark Winter Nights, where people tell stories of things that have happened to them in Alaska (I've gone a couple other times too). It's held at a high school, and I can never get over how tiny their cafeteria is:

Today mom and I went kayaking on Piledriver Slough with Bonnie (we went geocaching there a couple years ago too)! She and mom and a falling-out for a couple years, but they suddenly seem to be fine with each other again lol. I missed hanging out with her, so that was cool. Today mom and I went to the State Fair..we had to take advantage of the sunny weather (the Fair is notorious for rain), but OMG it was HOT (81). We could only handle a couple hours before we were like NOPE and had to get out of the heat lol. I'm pretty sure I was the only adult without kids at the petting zoo haha. Yesterday mom and I went kayaking down the Chena River with Bonnie and Jeanie (mom used to work with her). It was a nice day, though HOT, and everyone else in Fairbanks seemed to have the same idea as us haha. We floated from the Wendell St. Bridge to Pike's Landing, where we had dinner..at 10 PM, but who cares, it doesn't get dark lol (I'm sure ( Read more... )

Yesterday mom and Bonnie and I drove up to Circle (around 156 miles north of Fairbanks). Mom and Bonnie are going on a float trip on the Yukon River out of Circle in July, and wanted to check it out (and they invited me cause they're awesome lol). On Sunday we drove to the start of the trail to the cabin..we were worried there wouldn't be enough snow on the trail since most of the way there was barely any snow at all.
